Microlab's Point of Interface (POI) utilized as the wireless communication distribution hub in Copenhagen's new Royal Arena
June 14, 2017
Microlab, a Wireless Telecom Group Company (NYSE MKT: WTT) today announced it was chosen for its Point of Interface designs that are being used in the new Royal Arena in Copenhagen. The arena, which opened in February 2017, was faced with the challenge of integrating three wireless carriers on one common distributed antenna system (DAS). Microlab provided the solution with two POI designs, the DCC601-B19 and the DCC601-B22, that include 9 inputs supporting different output configurations, covering the many sectors of this venue. These designs integrated the three carriers with 3 operating bands into common outputs. The Microlab POI designs provide low loss solutions while achieving very low PIM and better than 55 dB inter-band isolation to this passive DAS installation.
"For the Royal Arena, our challenge was to integrate a triple-band, high-power MIMO DAS solution for three operators. The main challenges were combining all services and operators in a compact, low-loss POI design with high performance and low PIM," said Lars Jessen, Business Development Manager at ELLTEL Networks A/S. "We turned to the experts at Microlab who were able to meet the challenge and design a solution which allowed us to optimize the RF coverage and facilitate ease of commissioning the DAS system and Microlab was able to provide that."
"Our low PIM designs reduce the CapEx requirements of advance DAS networks in these types of venues," said Joe Debold, Senior VP, Global Sales & Marketing. "We are proud to have been selected by Eltel to support this important venue."
This customized solution is one of many Microlab DCC Series products. Microlab DCC Series solutions have been used extensively in stadiums, convention centers, campuses, medical facilities, and many other enterprise venues. Microlab DCC Solutions in Active DAS or passive D-RAN are designed to the unique specifications of the particular venue. All this while serving the needs of multiple carriers with multiple operating bands for a high performance fully tested solution.
Key Features of DCC601-B19 and DCC601-B22:
- Supports multiple frequency bands from DCS 1800MHz to 2700MHz
- Low Loss architecture for maximum RF Transmission
- Guaranteed Low PIM using latest 4.3-10 connector interface - fully-tested to ensure spec compliance
- 3RU solution provides compact size for large multi-sector DAS
